Frustrated

Frustrated is what I’m feeling right now. I’ve spent the last four days working on updating my books and I’m frustrated. Why, you may ask, am I frustrated? I decided to make digital versions of my two children’s books. This sounds easy… but apparently it isn’t. You see, my children’s books are choose-your-own-adventure style bedtime stories. This means that you don’t just swipe to the next page… there has to be a link (that makes sense) to the page that correlates to your child’s choice. I have re-written, re-formatted, linked and re-linked ONE of the books about a dozen times. When I check the output, it looks okay for a few pages and then it all goes stupid.

Frustrated.

The paper version looks great. I’ve fixed a few errors, updated the cover… I’m happy with the way it looks. The counterpart is making me want to throw my computer across the room. I’ll get it done. I’ll just be crazy for a few weeks until that happens. Once I get the formatting for the first one done, the second book will be a breeze!

After the children’s books have been updated I’ll start working on my gaming journals. They really need an update AND a name change. I originally named them for use in the game store I owned and that was fine until I realized that other stores may want them… and the name and constant references to my own store may be off-putting.

Frustrated.

This is my life for the next month or so. Five books to update and another book to finish writing. My own timeline may be a bit short. I may need more time. I may be a bit hard on myself.

Time to get back to “version 12” of my e-book. I’m on page 8 of 70… so many pages to go! Wish me luck.
