- Open My Comic Shop https://www.mycomicshop.com/
- In the search field, locate the comic you are adding
- This is where you will get your information to fill in for the listing
- Open Shopify https://free-range-pumpkins.myshopify.com/admin
- Select “Products” on the left.
- Double check to make sure the product is not already there.
- Click Add product at the top of the page.
- On the right side of the page
- Product status should be “Active”
- Vendor is the Brand (aka DC, Marvel, Archie, etc)
- Product Type is Comic.
- Collections is Reading Material
- Tags can be used like a hashtag and help with online search engines
- In the middle of the page
- Title is the name of the product
- Format for comic book titles is as follows: Title (year) #Issue Number
- Example: Captain Paragon (1983) #1
- Easiest way: copy from My Comic Shop
- Description is necessary for most search engines and our website. DO NOT leave this blank.
- Find a photo of the item and add it to Media
- Cost per Item is what we paid for the comic book (Ask Amy or Herb if you are unsure)
- Price is found by looking at sold eBay listings, My Comic Shop values, etc. Sometimes, Amy or Herb has already done the research and priced the comic. If so, put this number in.
- Charge tax on this product must be checked
- SKU is ‘comic’ followed by a sequential number. Ask Amy where we left off with the numbering and continue from there.
- Barcode must be filled in if possible.
- Track Quantity must be checked
- Do not check continue selling when out of stock
- Quantity should be how many we have of that issue
- Location is ‘Main Store’
- Weight should be 16 ounces
- Title is the name of the product
- Click Save at the top of the page.
- Make sure the comic is bagged and boarded.
- Put the price on the bag, not the comic.
