Job Overview
Delight and inspire our customers with great sales and play experiences. You will be greeting customers, processing transactions, fulfilling orders, assisting with organized play events and performing the day-to-day duties necessary to keep America’s favorite game store running.
Responsibilities and Duties
This includes, but isn’t limited to:
- Assisting customers with purchase decisions.
- Assist with organized play events
- Teach new customers how to play games (e.g. Magic: the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon)
- Set up, take down and/or help man our convention booth (when necessary)
- Processing transactions / cash register duties.
- Cash handling.
- Light cleaning / store maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- High School diploma.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Retail experience
- Willingness to submit to a background check
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to learn and use that knowledge proactively
- Team player with organizational skills
- Tabletop game knowledge preferred (e.g. Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Catan, Castle Panic)
- Knowledge of collectible card games and/ or miniature games is preferred. (e.g. Magic: the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon, Dice Masters, Star Wars X-Wing, Dragon Ball Super)
- Painting experience and the ability to teach basic miniature game assembly preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively utilizing written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to climb a step ladder
Applicants with certifications (e.g. Pokémon Judge/Professor, Magic: The Gathering Judge) will receive a higher base pay and will be preferred for hire.
Compensation
The starting salary is $XXX per hour and is paid on a bi-weekly basis. Direct deposit is available.
