What does Free Range Pumpkins expect of a store manager?

Expectations of an assistant store manager are that he/she will assume the following duties in the absence of the store manager.  Otherwise, the two will work in conjunction with one another to complete the following duties.

On a daily basis, these items need to be accomplished.

  1. Prepare registers for daily activity by 10:45am
  2. Prepare change order (if necessary) by 10:45am
  3. Prepare bank deposit (if necessary) by 10:45am
  4. Process overnight orders
  5. Ensure bathrooms are stocked and ready for use by 10:45am
  6. Ensure gaming area is ready for use by 10:45am (chairs down, floor swept/mopped, etc)
  7. Process orders as they come in during the day (pro tip: check hourly)
  8. Prepare/organize daily events (get out promos, product, signage, etc)
  9. Inform shift leads and assistant manager of events, problems, projects, tasks to be completed for their shift
  10. Assign tasks to staff
  11. Monitor inventory levels
  12. Restock shelves
  13. Receive merchandise
  14. Clean bathrooms three times per day
  15. Bathrooms swept and mopped
  16. Disinfect frequently touched surfaces at the end of the day
  17. Spot sweep/mop throughout the day
  18. Empty trash cans
  19. Process returns and exchanges according to store policy
  20. Run the register (as needed)
  21. Run events (as needed)
  22. Review card purchases from the prior day.
  23. Scan log books at the register for new entries and follow up as required.
  24. Create pickups for UPS/FedEx (if necessary)
  25. Ensure staff are wearing at least one of the following on their shift: branded shirt, branded lanyard, name tag
  26. Enforce store policies

On a weekly basis, these items need to be accomplished.

  1. Meet with Amy and/or Herb to discuss upcoming events, releases, projects etc
  2. Tuesday, before you go home for the day, remove the lock from the dumpster
  3. Wednesday, before you go home for the day, put the lock back on the dumpster, if it has been emptied.
  4. Review special orders and add to restock report
  5. Review game table requests and check against schedule book and event calendar
  6. Review new event requests from employees
  7. Schedule interviews with prospective employees (if necessary)
  8. Communicate store updates and new information to employees
  9. Collaborate with other supervisory staff to maximize efficiency
  10. Fill out table schedule book
  11. Create and maintain the bathroom cleaning schedule
  12. Check food items for expiration date; remove expired items when store is not open
  13. Create a restock report of items we are running low on (include requested restock levels) and give to Amy/Herb
  14. Create schedule for employees, give to Amy for approval and implementation.
  15. Create item entries in Shopify, according to store policies and procedures, for new items
  16. Keep track of how many promos are being used for each event
  17. Update/create displays for new and current merchandise
  18. Clean windows and front door (inside and outside)
  19. Dust merchandise and fixtures
  20. Sales floor mopped (completed either before or after hours)
  21. Stock room swept
  22. Offices and break room swept
  23. Break room mopped
  24. Break room cleaned

On a monthly basis, these items need to be accomplished.

  1. Prepare a list of items to be discussed at the monthly staff meeting
  2. Prepare a training schedule for new/current employees
  3. Stock check of Asmodee top 40 games by the 15th (list will be provided by rep)
  4. Stock check of Games Workshop base items by the 15th (list will be provided by rep)
  5. Create a new item report of games etc. that have been requested or are coming out soon and give to Amy/Herb.  Include anticipated inventory levels and initial order amount.
  6. Set up regular meetings with staff members to discuss progress, training, goals, etc.
  7. Create an inventory schedule.  Rotate areas of the store to be counted.
  8. Rotate game table mats
  9. Check lost and found.  Items left for 30+ days become store property.
  10. Stock room mopped (completed either before or after hours)
  11. Offices mopped (completed either before or after hours)
